About Eating Vancouver

Eating Vancouver started as a list on a phone. It is now a record of 5,140 restaurants across 95 neighbourhoods in Metro Vancouver, kept current so you can settle an argument about where to eat in under a minute.

No restaurant pays to be listed and the ranking cannot be bought. The site is supported by one sponsor, always clearly marked, with no say in what ranks.

How the ranking works

1 Rating, weighted by reviews A 4.9 with 30 reviews does not outrank a 4.6 with 3,000. Volume counts.

2 Chains and duplicates pulled out Franchise locations stay in the directory but are kept off the ranked lists and out of search.

3 Checked by hand, weekly Closures, moves and hour changes get fixed before the lists are re-cut.

Who runs it

Jacky Chou

Founder

Jacky is the founder of Indexsy, a holding company that builds internet businesses in public. Eating Vancouver is the one he eats his way through.
